A RARE Lalique vase could fetch more than £30,000 after it was found in a Northumberland home.

The 1922 cire perdue piece, entitled Deux Figures Femmes Aillee, was discovered packed away in a box during a routine probate valuation at a house outside Morpeth. Despite its value, it had been used to display flowers.

Now it will come under the hammer at Anderson and Garland’s Fine Art Auction in Newcastle.

Anderson and Garland Director Julian Thomson said: “The vase is just one of four and is a limited edition.

“Although it is currently valued between £20,000 and £30,000, we are already experiencing a lot of interest in the piece and believe the final figure could be significantly higher, depending on what happens on the day.”

The auction will take place on Tuesday. For further information visit or call 0191 430 3000.
