Vehicles of a bygone age

MOTOR enthusiasts are invited to see a display of vehicles from a bygone age at a garden centre near Morpeth on Sunday.

Heighley Gate Nursery & Garden Centre is hosting a Vintage and Classic Car Show in aid of St Oswald’s Hospice.

Funds will be collected through donation buckets and various competitions.

General Manager Roger Wale said: “The hospice, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, is one of our charities of the year and we have been fund-raising for this worthy cause throughout 2011.

“This will be the third car show we have held at Heighley Gate. The last one took place in June 2010 and we had more than 30 cars on display, including Austins, Jaguars and MGs.”

St Oswald’s Hospice provides specialist care and emotional support for adults and children with life-limiting conditions.

The event will take place in a section of the centre’s car park from 11am to 3pm. For more information, telephone 01670 513416.
