The weather was dismal but spirits were high at today's event which honoured all things Northumbrian.
Hundreds of people lined the streets of Morpeth to watch the Border Cavalcade parade through the town.
The colourful procession included local children dressed as dragons and maidens, musical and dancing groups and historical figures in period costume.
It was also a day of note for the Morpeth Gadgie Alex Swailes who was celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary with his wife Anne - but they delayed their celebrations until Sunday so he could concentrate on his duties at the gathering.
