Police are warning farmers in the Morpeth area to be on alert after receiving reports of men who spoke with Irish accents trying to sell generators and other machinery.

The men were in a grey VW van with writing on the side.

Advice from Northumbria Police includes being careful about buying from pedlars as the goods for sale may not always be of merchantable quality.
