WATCH: Delight as Northumberland road reopens
Councillors have been sharing their delight after a Northumberland road reopened this afternoon, following a lengthy closure.
The repaired B6344, at Crag End, near Rothbury, is back in use, ahead of the Easter weekend. The stretch had been closed since a landslip on Boxing Day 2012. Today's reopening has been described as a relief and a boost for the village and surrounding areas.
Following the Easter period, there may be some minor traffic restrictions and the need for temporary traffic lights on the road to complete some final landscaping of the area. There will be an official opening ceremony for the road next month.
