Hundreds of people gathered in Morpeth Market Place for the switch-on of the town’s Christmas lights last night.
Mayor Nic Best invited Ellington Colliery Brass Band and Alex Swailes with The Four Tenors to lead the carol singing, while 11-year-old Victoria Smyth had the honour of flicking the switch.
