Fans of the Queen have been getting creative to mark her 90th birthday.

Lesley Mackenzie, owner of The Bird Cage on Newgate Street, found a life-size cardboard cutout of Her Majesty for her window display. It also includes a suitably dressed Paddington Bear, Union Jacks and Royal family items and memorabilia.

Newgate Street resident Betty Simmons is only slightly younger than the Queen, as she will celebrate her 90th birthday on May 2. She said lots of people have stopped to look at her window display, which includes knitted items made by her daughter, Mary Brown.

Betty added: “The Queen is a marvellous person.”
