Woman airlifted to hospital after fall on Hadrian's Wall

A woman who fell while walking on Hadrian's Wall has been airlifted to hospital.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to the scene at 2.15pm yesterday to assist the North East Ambulance Service.

The patient, who had sustained a leg injury, was treated on scene by the doctor, paramedic team before being flown to Carlisle Hospital for on-going treatment.

The woman, in her 40s from Jarrow, arrived at hospital in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The flight took 12 minutes.
