'˜Wonderful memories' of Louvre Café
Ninety-four year old Marie Cooke contacted the Gazette after the bottom picture of the Louvre Café in Alnwick sparked some '˜wonderful memories'.
Her father moved to the town in 1924, when he was in his 30s, to work as baker and confectioner there, keeping the same job until he was 70.
Marie, of Alwynside, has fond memories of the venue, especially the dances during the war in the ‘beautiful ballroom’. And her two daughters also remember it.
