CHARITY: Help is there for sight loss

As a charity in Morpeth supporting vision impaired people we would like to highlight our fund-raising street collection event in Morpeth.

It took place on Wednesday, August 19 within Morpeth town centre, where we promoted the services of Northumberland County Blind Association, including the home visiting service (befriending), volunteer drivers, varied clubs and support groups.

The main aims of the services are to increase socialisation and to combat isolation for vision impaired people throughout the county.

The total amount raised was £457.56 and we would like to say a huge thank you all our dedicated volunteers, staff and to the members of the public who generously donated to our charity with their valuable time and resources.

Northumberland County Blind Association in Morpeth also aims to raise awareness of sight loss and promote the services it can offer.

These include low vision assessments and assistance with low vision aid equipment, such as magnifiers, lamps, desktop and handheld CCTV and telephones.
