Evidence enough

AS someone who travels through the centre of Morpeth at least three times per day, what a difference two days make.

What a pleasure travelling through the free-flowing, traffic light-free (St George’s Church/Telford Bridge, Bridge Street junction) part of Morpeth.

Drivers were using their common sense and reverting back to giving way to traffic approaching from the right with no prompting from County Council Highways and no explanation as to why drivers had been given respite from the ridiculous system.

Tuesday 9.30am, the traffic lights are turned back on, within five minutes the traffic is backed up past the Stobhill railway station.

Surely this is evidence enough to convince the council/highway decision makers to revert back to a roundabout.
