GARDEN: Planting for community

editorial image

I wish to send my sincere thanks and admiration to the many volunteers who came to help with the planting of the Pegswood Community Garden last week.

It was a fantastic team effort, with people from the Bee Keepers Association, the PCA, residents and councillors all pitching in for what were two days of extremely hard, but hugely rewarding work.

The Pegswood with Bothal WI provided us with endless cups of tea and lunch, for which I know everyone was extremely grateful.

We are grateful, too, for the loan of equipment from some residents and the Pegswood Allotments Association.

To the children from the village who decided to get your hands dirty and planted some plants for us — thank you.

We hope you enjoy seeing your hard work grow and develop into something special for the village.

Thank you to everyone who helped out, we’re nearly there.

Chairman, Pegswood Parish Council
