LIBRARY: Too small for growth town

editorial image

I’ve just visited the new library and am absolutely appalled at the size of it for a town like Morpeth, which is facing huge housing developments being built over the next few years.

We should all be encouraged to use the library, but there is no room for anyone to do very much in this cramped building.

The children’s area is very open and small and it will be really difficult to do the story reading and activities that they did in Gas House Lane.

I feel that Morpeth is slowly being eroded away as one thing after another gets either closed down or downgraded.

First County Hall, then the library, the car park, the Willows — soon we shall have nothing left.

Who makes these dreadful decisions to spoil our lovely town?
