MORPETH CLOCK: A disappointing visit

editorial image

My wife and I recently paid a visit to the revamped Flower Clock in Carlisle Park, Morpeth, one evening.

I appreciate that quite a sum of money had been raised for work on it, but to me, it was disappointing.

When we saw it featured on the local news it was said that visitors would come from all over the North East to see it. I somehow doubt it.

The hour hand was trailing on the flowers and was out of line with the clock face.

I’m sure that in the past when I have seen such clocks the hands have flowers on them too.

The plastic hands did nothing for it, but maybe they could be altered to take flowers.
