North’s place in rock history

I’m currently working on a book that looks at the influential rock artists to hail from the North East.

Musicians such as Paul Rogers of Free and Bad Company, David Coverdale of Deep Purple and Whitesnake, Sting, Chris Rea, Lindisfarne and many others are featured, and I was hoping that your readers might be inspired to get in touch and share memories and stories of their favourite North East recording artists.

Something I also hope to do in the book is establish what makes the North East of England a hotbed of talent in rock music, and why it isn’t recognised in the same way as Manchester, Liverpool or London.
