Too close to dismiss

NORMAN Bateman, in his letter to the Herald, February 28, has kindly invited me to substantiate my assertion, made in an earlier letter, that there are no plans to build a nuclear power station at Druridge Bay.

The BBC reported on June 23, 2011, that eight sites had been confirmed as suitable for new nuclear power plants, all of which are adjacent to existing nuclear sites.

The nearest sites listed to us were Sellafield and Hartlepool, both existing nuclear power plants.

So, Norman, I hope will support the opposition to windfarms blighting our countryside without concern that to do so might result in a nuclear site at Druridge.
