MORPETH have been drawn away to either Hanworth Villa or Eastbourne United in the fifth round of the FA Vase following Saturday’s excellent 3-0 win over Westfields of Hereford.
The last 16 ties are scheduled to be played on Saturday, February 15. The final of the national competition will take place at Wembley Stadium.
Hanworth Villa are based in Hounslow, London, and were formed as recently as 1976 – they play in the Combined Counties League Premier Division. During their Vase run, they provided a shock by beating last year’s finalists Tunbridge Wells 1-0 away from home.
Eastbourne United ply their trade in the Sussex County League Division Two and have a long history dating back to 1896.
Morpeth Town Chairman Ken Beattie said: “Whilst I would have preferred a home draw at this stage of the competition, I am delighted that we have avoided the other Northern League sides.
“We will do our homework on our fifth round opponents and prepare properly for the biggest game in our history.”
