Call goes out for new sides

The Morpeth Sunday League is looking for teams to compete in the 2015­/16 season.

Entrance fees for this season have been reduced to £25 plus a bond of £50, which is refundable provided that the club completes one season. Alan will be happy to provide further details relating to finances, pitches, kit and other expenses.

In Division One on Sunday, second placed side Amble Tavern missed the chance to go level on points with leaders Ashington RAOB as they lost 4-3 at home to Morpeth Shambles.

Amble were 3-0 up at half time thanks to a brace from Liam Brooks and a goal from Ross Gair. But Shambles turned it round in the second half and won the match with a goal each from Kyle Shaw, Jonny Spiers, Ashley McAlpine and Steve Warwick.

Bedlington Social Club defeated Amble Blue Bell 6-2 with the Bedlington scorers as follows: Chris Phillips, Joe Moscrop, Jamie Chapman, Curtis Taylor, Simon Cunningham and John Beswick. The Amble goals were scored by Liam Ramsay and Alex Scott.

Bedlington FC won against Morpeth Wansbeck 9-3. The Bedlington scorers were Thomas Truscott (three), Michael Calder (two), Adam Barker (two), Gregory Readon and Scott Kirkup.

The goalscorers for Wansbeck were Stephen Harrogate and Ian Jackson (two).

Finally this week, Stobswood edged out Bedlington Barrington 2-1.
