Amble Tavern 1 Bedlington Barr’ton Arms 2 Lewin Cup Final
In a highly competitive final, Bedlington Barrington Arms won the Lewin Cup with a last gasp 2-1 win over Amble Tavern.
The game was deadlocked until the hour-mark when The Monkey opened the scoring with a piece of individual brilliance from striker Dylan Williamson.
Williamson collected the ball inside the Amble half and, after beating his man, struck a swerving effort from 25 yards out that flew into the bottom corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance (0-1).
Amble Tavern brought the game level with 10 minutes remaining as a cross into the Barrington box wasn’t cleared properly and Tavern striker Sean Taylor made no mistake with a clinical finish from close range (1-1).
With extra-time beckoning, The Monkey got themselves a last-minute winner.
Barrington captain Roy Pattison played the ball down the left-hand flank into the path of Dylan Williamson, who then dribbled his way into the box.
After beating two players, his shot was then deflected past the goalkeeper into the bottom corner to win the cup for Bedlington Barrington Arms (1-2).
