ES Johnson Challenge Cup semi-final
Bedlington Barrington convincingly beat HMP Northumberland 7-2 to reach the final. On target for ‘The Monkey’ were John Paxton who notched a clinical hat-trick, Stephen Young helped himself to a brace and the scoring was completed with single goals from Daniel Dargue and Calum Donohoe. The man-of-the-match for Barrington was Dylan Williamson, who, despite not scoring, assisted five of the goals with an excellent display.
Amble Tavern ended Ashington RAOB’s unbeaten league record as they ran out 3-0 winners. Scoring for Amble were Darren Riddell, Matty Graham and Josh Hay.
Stobswood Welfare recorded a 12-1 win over Morpeth Wansbeck with the goalscorers as follows: Jake Baker (four) Gary McDonnell (three) Stefan O’Brian (two) Stu Oman, John Spiers and David Curtis. The Wansbeck replies were both scored by Liam Jackson.
Morpeth Shambles defeated Amble Blue Bell 4-2 thanks to a Stu Marshall double and a goal each from Ross Donnelley and Ashley McAlpine. The Blue Bell scorers were Scott Fulton and David Cambis.
