Morpeth Town end pre-season programme at weekend

Morpeth Town Football Club complete their pre-season schedule on Saturday with a trip to Gateshead to play Ryton and Crawcrook Albion.

That game kicks off at 2.30pm.

Their EBAC Northern League Division One season begins in earnest the following Saturday with a home game against Bishop Auckland, kicking off at 3pm.

Their pre-season schedule began with a weekend trip to Scotland to play Dalbeattie Star and Stranraer.

New signing Jordan Nellis netted his first goal for the club, as did Jack Betts, with Daniel Taggart and Ben Sayer completing, the scoring as the Highwaymen beat Dalbeattie 4-1.

Stranraer, a Scottish League One side, beat their English visitors 5-3, the Highwaymen’s only pre-season loss so far.

Whitley Bay A were next up, and they lost 3-1 to Morpeth.

Goals from Sayer and Taggart secured a 2-0 victory over Walker Central.

Next on the schedule was a trip to fellow EBAC Northern League Division One side West Allotment Celtic, a 4-1 victory.

Goals from Steven Anderson and Lee McAndrew resulted in a 2-0 victory over Jarrow last time out.

Morpeth complete their preparations on Saturday when they travel to Ryton & Crawcrok Albion K.O. 2.30pm
