Morpeth Town looks to build on its success

PREPARATIONS are already underway at Craik Park for the 2012/13 season as Morpeth Town look to build on last season’s very creditable fourth-place finish by going one better and gaining a promotion spot to return to Division One of the Northern League.

Four pre-season fixtures have already been arranged, with more to follow. Morpeth will host near neighbours Ashington on Friday, July 13. They will travel to Gosforth Bohemians on Tuesday, July 17 and Newcastle Benfield on Tuesday, July 24.

Before the first game of the season, which will be an FA Cup match on August 11, Town will be travelling up to Scotland to take on Stirling Albion at the Scottish Institute of Sport at Stirling University.

Tickets for the comedy evening, featuring Mike Cash – The Ultimate Comedy Entertainer – on Saturday, July 14, are selling well and there only a few available.

l Morpeth Town AFC Football in the Community in association with Funball United will be running sessions for seven to 13-year-olds during the summer holidays.

They will run from Wednesday, August 1, to Friday, August 3, Wednesday, August 8, to Friday, August 10, and Wednesday, August 15, to Friday, August 17 – all between 10am and 3pm.
