Only two games took place in the Morpeth Sunday League this week, with the majority of clubs enjoying a welcome Easter break
In Division One, Morpeth Shambles edged out HMP Northumberland 4-3 with all four goals coming from Wyn Fremlin. The HMP goals were scored by Scott Willis, Nathan Winter and Carl Summerson.
HMP Northumberland fell behind to a penalty after only two minutes before missing a spot-kick themselves.
HMP had the majority of possession in the first half, but the game was level at half-time with the scores locked at 2-2.
Their opponents scored two break-away goals in the second half to make it 4-2 before HMP got within one to set up a tense finish.
Morpeth Shambles, however, remained resolute and they saw out the match, picking up three points in the process.
In Group One of The Ken Gray Memorial Subsidiary Cup, Ashington RAOB defeated Stobswood Welfare 2-0 with strikes from Kieran Robson and Shaun Gibson.
