Morpeth SC Galaxy 0 Seaton Delaval Dynamos Zagreb 2
UNFORTUNATELY, it was one of those days where the ball simply would not go in the net.
No one could fault the Galaxy performance, with the team spending a lot of the game camped in their opponents’ half.
Once again, the visitors had two shots and scored from both.
The team did everything it could, with everyone playing their part in an even, end-to-end game.
Morrison terrorised their left-back while Lawson took care of their right-back.
Nellis battled hard in midfield and gave Seaton Delaval no easy route down the centre of the pitch.
Charlton, Bickerton, and Davison all had chances to score but no one was able to beat the visiting goalkeeper.
At the back, Small and Dunn were excellent in stopping 99 per cent of what the visitors threw forward, with Hope clearing up anything which did get through.
McCormack and Andrews starred at left-back, while Farrier did an excellent job at right-back. Galaxy’s number 16 also made a few runs forward and did very well to clear the ball off the goal-line with a superb, improvised, volleyed back-heel after Hope was beaten.
The 0-2 scoreline did not tell the story of the game as a draw would have been a fairer reflection, but was ultimately an accurate representation of what happened at each end of the pitch.
Galaxy will go to Prudhoe high in confidence next week, having beaten them 1-0 at home in November.
