Sunday Leagues set to stage Crichton Memorial Finals
Next Sunday will see the David Crichton Memorial Cup Finals take place. In the morning with a 10.30am KO will be the U15s junior final. This will be between Cramlington Juniors and Wallsend Boys Club Yellows. Then in the afternoon East Chevington from the Blyth League take on holders Burradon and New Fordley from the Cramlington League with a 2pm KO.
East Chevington were in cup action when they played Bedlington Social Club in the NFA Sunday Cup first round. However, Bedlington Social Club Utd gained revenge with a 4-0 win after their defeat in the David Crichton Cup. Goals for the Bedlington side came from Michael Angus, Stephen Lucas, Andrew McLennen and Adam Ord.
In round one of the George Davison Cup, Ashington Town Central were far too strong for neighbours Bubbles. They won the tie with an 11-4 win. Leading the scoring for the Central was Reece Farrell with five. Ross Fuller scored a hat-trick, Liam Hornsby netted two and completing the scoring was David Stewart. Goals for Bubbles came from David Sturgeon, Shaun Cowell, Jordan Hancock and Kieth Smith.
The Premier Division saw wins for Ashington RAOB and Newsham Victory. The Buffs won 7-2 at home against Blyth Town Sunday. Kyle Downey led the scoring for the Buffs with a hat-trick, and scoring one each were Anthony Watson, Kyle Oliver, Simon Broatch and Liam Thompson. Goals for Blyth Town came from Martyn Hepple and Daniel Carr.
The Vic won 5-2 at home against Ashington Town Hirst. David Lillico led the scoring for the Vic with a hat-trick, Ryan Waite and Gavin Agnew also netting. Bradley Higgins and Ben Senior scored for the Hirst.
Division One saw Station Lounge Ashington win 5-1 at home against Ellington Plough. The Lounge had the better of the first half and led 4-1. However, they were held at bay in the second half with Ellington’s keeper Kieren Atkinson outstanding. Goals for the Lounge came from Andrew Bell (2), Ben Mordue, Kia Downey and Ryan Clark. Max Wilson scored for the Plough.
Cramlington Burton House had a good win at home, 8-0 against the Bedlington Breakers with Michael Jordan bagging a hat-trick
