Going into the game full of confidence after last Wednesday’s comprehensive 3-0 victory over Ryton & Crawcrook Albion in the Brooks Mileson League Cup, The Highway Men took the game to their opponents from the first whistle.

Michael Chilton opened the scoring on 13 minutes when he guided home Keith Gradon’s dead ball with a deft header.

Composed at the back, with Dryden in the Morpeth goal dealing expertly with everything the home attackers could throw at him, Morpeth took a grip of the game in the second half.

Sean Taylor outstripped the home defence on the hour and his cross was dummied by Michael Chilton into the path of James Novak, who smashed home his first goal for the club to give Morpeth a very welcome three points.

Morpeth’s next league game is at home to North Shields on Saturday, November 29. Kick-off at Craik Park is 3pm.

Morpeth Town: Dryden, Henderson, Novak, Fry, Jewels, Hiftle, Taylor, Graydon, (Buzzeo), Hall, Chilton, (Lee), Bell. Techflow Group Qatar man-of-the-match: Karl Dryden.
