It was Cup quarter-final day in the Northern Alliance League at the weekend when Red Row faced Winlaton Vulcans in the Gardner Cup.

Unfortunately, the Welfare side exited the competition when they were beaten 3-1 at home.

Joining Winlaton in the semi-finals are Percy Main Amateurs, who beat Gosforth Bohemiens 4-3; Newcastle Blue Star, who won 2-0 away to Blyth Town; and Newcastle Chemfica, who edged out Newcastle East End 1-0.

In the quarter-finals of the League Cup, Ponteland lost 2-1 away to Killingworth. Also through are Cullercoats, 5-1 winners over Bedlington; New Fordley, who beat Haltwhistle Jubilee 2-0; and Willington Quay, 2-1 winners over Prudhoe.
