Corbridge (172-4) v Ulgham (168-8) Northumberland Cricket League, Division One

ULGHAM posted a reasonable total, but in the end it was not enough.

The visitors did not get off to a good start in their innings when three of their top-order batsmen were dismissed for single figures, but Darrell Campbell and Gary Hall steadied the ship before playing some excellent attacking shots.

Campbell was eventually out for 58 and Hall was set for a half-century until he was caught when on 39. The next highest scorer was David Loxham (15) as the away side finished on 168-8.

After Campbell and Roy Haygarth removed the Corbridge openers, Fowler (40) and Billinghurst (37 not out) came together and took the game away from Ulgham.

Although David Charlton and Hall each claimed a scalp, the hosts won with six wickets to spare.
