Enthusiastic runners and top-class road runners alike have the ideal opportunity to ring in the New Year together when Morpeth Harriers host their annual 11k (approx) Road Race on Thursday, January 1.

The event, sponsored by George Patterson, with additional support from Start Fitness, gets under way at the bottom of Dogger Bank on Mitford Road in Morpeth at 1pm, on the usual attractive, yet tough, scenic course that takes in Mitford and Mitford Steads, returning to Morpeth via Whalton Road, Morpeth Golf Club, the Sun Inn and Carlisle Park, finishing on the Stanners.

Pre-race entry has now officially closed, however, late entry will be accepted on the day at a cost of £8 for club runners, and £10 for non-club runners.

Late entries will also be eligible for prizes and can be collected from 11.30am at race headquarters at Morpeth Rugby Club at Grange House Field, along with all pre-race entries.

Changing facilities for both genders are available at Morpeth Harriers’ Clubhouse, (next door to the Rugby Club).

Note, all entrants must be at least 17 on the day of the race and Veterans must state date of birth on entry.

Any late event information or bad weather updates will appear on the Morpeth Harriers website – www.morpethharriers.freeservers.com
