Ponteland High School’s Charlotte Ash has been selected to represent Great Britain at an international showjumping competition.
She has been picked by British Showjumping to be a member of the Pony Squad representing Great Britain at the forthcoming FEI CSIO Pony, Children on Horses and Junior Nations Cup Show in Hagen, Germany.
The event takes place this week and runs until Sunday, June 21.
Charlotte will be competing with her mother Shirley’s 11 year-old bay gelding Aughnashammer.
Although still completing her final set of GCSE exams, Charlotte has always managed to successfully balance her busy competition schedule with her school work, thanks in large measure to the support she receives from her parents and her teachers.
Four combinations from each squad will be selected to compete on their respective Nations Cup teams.
The Junior Nations Cup competition takes place on Friday, June 19, with the Children and Pony’s Nations Cup competitions taking place on Saturday, June 20.
The juniors will then contest their Grand Prix later on the Saturday whilst the Children on Horses and Ponies compete in their Grand Prix on the Sunday.
