LOCAL golfers are clubbing together for St Oswald’s Hospice at the second annual Golf Day at Ponteland Golf Club on September 13.
Teams of four will be pitted against each other on the picturesque 18-hole course, followed by a meal and a well-deserved drink at the club’s 19th hole.
Kevin Batty, who runs travel company Golfing Holidays, has organised the event.
He said: “We held a similar event last year with The Swan Inn at Heddon on the Wall and we raised over £1,000. This year we hope to attract even more teams so we can raise extra money for such a dedicated North East charity.”
Viv Williamson, Fund-raising Manager at St Oswald’s, said: “We are so glad that Kevin is turning last year’s success into an annual event.
“It is regular events such as these that help us to continue helping local adults and children at a time when they need it the most. Thank you to all those competing and good luck.”
It costs £140 to enter a team and teams can be all male/female or mixed. To register, email Mr Batty at Kevin@golfingholidays.org or call 01661 828021.
