Cycling event visits villages

RESIDENTS in parts of Northumberland can see some cycling action on Saturday.

A total of 78 riders are taking part in Barnesbury Cycling Club’s Hilly 21 Time Trial, which starts in Belsay at 2pm.

The participants will proceed north on an unclassified road via Bolam Lake to the junction with the B6343 and will turn left to Scots Gap before taking the first right onto an unclassified road to Rothley Crossroads.

They will then turn left onto the B6342 to Cambo and go back onto the B6343 to Scots Gap and then cycle along the unclassified road in the direction of Belsay to finish opposite the start.
