A total of 13 Tri Northumberland members took part in the Newcastle-Woodhorn Triathlon held at Woodhorn Museum and QE2 Country Park.
There were three distances in the event. In the Beginners section, Karen Singleton finished in 19th position overall and secured a podium place in her category as third lady.
In the Standard section, Andy Niven was first back for the club in sixth position in 2h15m59s. Ryan Shiel was next in 55th place (2h33m35s), followed by Brian Shiel in 76th (2h39.00). The other finishers were as follows: Alex Olsen 97th (2h45m17s), Stephen Holmes 101st (2h46m28s) and Marius van Aswegen 140th (2h58m09s). In the Sprint distance, Darren McBain was 23rd in 1h22m26s, Stephen Locker 32nd in 1h23m58s and Iain Katz 34th in 1h24m29s. The other Tri Northumberland competitors were as follows: Craig Gair 60th (1h29m44s), Chris Birch 65th (1h29m52s), Suzanne Davies tied 79th (1h31m07s) and Jenny Edgell 250th (1h48m04s).
