A MOTHER and daughter from the Pegasus Centre in Tranwell are celebrating after taking part in the RDA National Dressage Championships at Hartpury in Gloucestershire.

Caitlin McHale, a student at Collingwood School, Morpeth, was particularly successful, achieving a second place in the dressage competition and a third place in the combined training event.

Her mother Gillian also took part in the National Championships, having qualified to take part in the dressage competition, and was delighted with her daughter’s success.

“Caitlin did really well. I am really proud of her,” she said.

Gillian is a regular volunteer at the Pegasus Centre, a purpose-built riding centre, which enriches the lives of people with disabilities.

The RDA National Championships is the largest event of its kind in the world with more than 450 competitors.
