Warenford Warriors (106-4) v Mitford Marauders (105-6) Alnwick and District League T20 Group One

MITFORD suffered another Twenty20 defeat after being restricted to just over 100 in their innings.

Their opening batsmen, Andrew O’Neill (18) and Joe Jackson (10), got things off to a solid start and Bhavesh Patel (30 not out) looked confident at the crease. But he struggled to find the boundary and kept losing partners at the other end. Shah (11) was the only other Mitford player to reach double figures as they finished their 20 overs on 105-6.

Warenford opener Brian Thompson was out for a duck, caught Dan Tuite bowled Shah, but Kevin Thompson (42 not out) was in good nick and he found support to take the hosts to their victory target.

Tuite and Jagatsinh picked up a wicket each and there was also a run-out.
