A group of eight to 12-year-old swimmers from Morpeth ASC (pictured right) competed in the final heat of the Northumberland and Durham Junior League.
The team had already competed successfully in two previous heats and their performance at Freeman’s Quay in Durham confirmed their place in the final.

Swimmers who finished in second place included Richard Butterworth (12 Butterfly), and Kate Kennedy in three events (backstroke, freestyle and butterfly).

The 12-year-old boys’ medley team finished second in their event (Richard Butterworth, Joe Yates, Danny Henderson and Sam Tate).
