BLAGDON Park ended their season on a high and this was largely down to a fantastic innings from Russell Hughes.
Once he and fellow opener David Gibson played themselves in, they accelerated the scoring and reached 100 with ease.
By the time Gibson was trapped LBW for 42, Hughes had made a well deserved century which featured some impressive hitting to the boundary.
His great attacking shots kept on coming, with support from Nigel Clough who made 32, and the home side made an imposing total of 288 for two from their 45 overs.
Hughes finished 185 not out. His innings included 22 fours and five sixes.
Matthew Senior made an early breakthrough for Blagdon Park when he bowled Bomarsund opener Thain for a duck.
He soon got his second and Alistair Clark, two, Henry Blake and Mark Foster were also in the wickets as the visitors were reduced to 102 for six.
Thornton was staying solid and scored a few boundaries, but he kept losing partners including Mordey who was caught by Clark off the bowling of Senior for 13.
Gibson took the final three wickets as Bomarsund were all out for 164. Thornton was left stranded on 44 not out.
This 124-run victory meant Blagdon Park finished fifth in the table.
