Graham Pattinson struck his third successive half-century for Bomarsund second team, but they still fell to a five-wicket defeat to Stobswood.
Pattinson played excellently for his 65 as the visitors managed to make 161-8 from their 40 overs, with five batsmen departing in their teens.
In reply, Adam Gardiner struck early in the innings, however, S Townsley carried his bat throughout as Stobswood reached their target inside 32 overs.
After their triumph over Blyth last week at the Welfare, the seconds were looking to claim back-to-back victories for the first time this season.
Bomarsund’s openers put on 39 before Adam McTaggart departed, nevertheless, Pattinson proved to be the rock of the innings for the third week running.
He struck 11 sweetly-timed boundaries before being removed four overs before the end of the innings.
Adam Gardiner and Chris Scott both scored 19 with the latter finishing not out, Dan Robinson (13), McTaggart (12) and Tom More (11) all made starts, but could not progress further.
After an overcast start to the game, the sun shone brightly and the visitors made a decisive blow when A Gardiner hit the top of E Black’s off-stump.
S Townsley was joined by D Townsley as the pair put on a 61-run stand before More found the edge of the latter’s bat with the score on 89.
More removed A Toddhunter, but S Townsley progressed passed his 50 and beyond before A Gardiner picked up his second and third wicket in the 13th over.
The opening batsman hit the winning runs leaving Bomar second bottom of the division with next Saturday’s game against Ashington Rugby club proving now to be a big one.
