A TIGHT home clash saw a disciplined bowling effort from Welfare lead to a narrow 21-run home victory.
Winning the toss and batting first, Welfare started well as openers Karl (33) and Ian (17) Watson put on 50.
Karl Dullaghan added 22 while the tail wagged a little as Michael Beverley hit 15 and Adam Cook 17.
Bomarsund’s main man was David Secombe, who took six wickets for just 21 runs off 13 overs, which included seven maiden overs. Allan Livingstone (2-1 off 1.1 overs) and Gary Mordey (2-47) got the others.
In reply, the Stobswood attack kept it just as tight, bowling the visitors out for 117.
Anthony Wingfield took three wickets for only two runs and the other wicket-takers were also economical – Beverley (3-30), Cook (2-36) and I Watson (2-28).
