But it all went downhill for Backworth when David Waters caught Collins off Mark Waters’ bowling for 25 and David Waters clean bowled Race for 28.
The other wickets were taken fairly quickly as they were dismissed for just 108, with only Fairbairn (22) showing any resistance.

But innings from Matty Bell (19) and Parag Chauhan (28) got them back on track and they were also helped by a lot of extras.
In the end it was Andrew Morgan (12 not out) and Neil Pinnock (eight not out) who saw the visitors home.
Ponteland (75 all out) v Backworth (160 all out)
Northumberland & Tyneside Senior League, Division A2
PONTELAND slumped to an 85-run defeat thanks to a big batting failure.
The bowlers did well as Backworth were all out for 160. Tom Seymour took three wickets and Iftikhar Fazal picked up a couple.
But in reply, things started to go really badly once openers Wayne Ritzema (19) and James Ritzema (five) were dismissed.
