Seve wants clubs to take up challenge

GOLF legend Seve Ballesteros is urging golfers across the Northumberland to help beat brain cancer by asking their club to take part in the National Golf Club Challenge 2011.

The challenge, which takes place on Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24, will help raise much-needed funds for the Seve Ballesteros Foundation, which is working together with Cancer Research UK to fund life-saving research into brain cancer.

Hundreds of golf clubs and thousands of golfers are expected to come together on the same weekend to host their own fund-raising stableford competition.

The five times Major winner said: “By signing up to the challenge, clubs across Northumberland can enjoy the sport while raising money for brain cancer research.”
