Morpeth Harriers had three outright winners at the Northumberland Minor Schools Track and Field Championships held at Gateshead International Stadium.
They all featured in the Girls’ events, however, there were also some good minor placings achieved.
North Eastern Counties 1500m Champion Holly Peck, representing East Northumberland, dominated the proceedings in the Year 7 Girls’ 1500m as she won in an excellent 5m12.9s.
Another winner in this age group was Lily Heaton, who took the 800m in 2m37.82s.
The third Morpeth Harriers winner, and again representing East Northumberland, was Nadine Arkle. She won the Year 8 Girls’ 200m in style, posting a time of 28.02s.
Another prominent girl performer was Rhiannon Hedley, who finished second to Gateshead Harrier Ava Taperell in the Year 6 Girls’ 800m, posting a time of 2m32.4s.
Although there were no Morpeth Harriers winners amongst the Boys, there was still some excellent minor placings.
Representing East Northumberland, Matthew Heslop was a good second in the Year 7 1500m, clocking 5m03.1s.
He also got third in the Long Jump with a best effort of 4.24m.
East Northumberland’s Ross Charlton ran well to finish second to Blyth’s Josh Fiddaman in the Year 8 Boys’ 1500m, clocking 4m51.8s.
