MORPETH-BASED SGR Racing had a mixed weekend at its home round of the Sunoco British 125GP Championship at Croft.
Rider Chrissy Rouse knocked a massive two seconds off his best lap times during qualifying and placed his bike in 12th place on the grid.
With his friends, family and sponsors present Rouse had hoped for a good top ten showing.
He made an excellent start at the North Yorkshire circuit and could be seen making his way through the pack.
Unfortunately for the 15-year-old, another rider stopped in front of him at the complex leaving him nowhere to go. Rouse crashed out of what could have been his first top ten finish at British Championship level.
He said: “I’m gutted this happened as I felt sure I was on for a result. It’s especially gutting as it’s our home round.
“The team worked hard over the weekend and I really wanted a result for everyone. I guess that will now have to wait until the next round at Thruxton.”
Team Manager Stephen Kinghorn said: “We seem to be out of luck at the moment. The bike is working well and Chrissy is riding well so we just need to get a clear run and a solid finish.
“I think a strong showing would boost Chrissy’s confidence and make him feel like he has arrived in the British Superbike paddock.
“I’d like to thank all our supporters for coming along this weekend, we really appreciate it.”
