Blagdon Park I (192) v Tillside I (172) Northumberland Cricket League, Premier Division
BLAGDON Park came out on top in this tight encounter on Saturday.
The hosts batted first and got off to a reasonable start, although Mark Foster was trapped lbw for 12 and James Sanders was out for just six.
But they recovered thanks to an entertaining innings of 56 by Shaun Collins, which included 10 fours and one six, and 23 from David Gibson.
Tillside were back on top when Blagdon were reduced to 123 for seven, then things became just about even with contributions from Paul Johnson (29), Greg Senior (21) and last man Steve Oxley (11). The home side were all out for 192. In reply, the visitors were in trouble when Reed nicked a Matthew Senior delivery to wicketkeeper Nigel Clough and Hindmarsh could only hit an Oxley delivery into the safe hands of Foster.
Tillside rallied thanks to Turnbull (35) and Hindmarsh (39), but Blagdon kept chipping away and Gibson picked up two wickets, with Oxley getting another one.
Although Hill made 53 he kept running out of partners and the away side were all out for 172, with Johnson taking four wickets.
