MORPETH-BASED SGR Racing and its rider, Xavier Zayat, travelled to the inaugural European round of the British Championship at the Cathedral of Speed in Assen, the Netherlands.

Joining the British Championship bikes on track were the Dutch Moto3/125cc riders, giving a much larger field to compete against.

The bike showed a good turn of speed, but Xavier struggled to use this to his advantage as he failed to find a decent set up during free practice and qualifying.

Starting 28th on the grid, it was always going to be an uphill struggle to get into the points, but he rode well and moved through the field to gain a points-scoring finish of 14th in the British Championship.

The following weekend saw the team return to home soil at Silverstone.

The bike again showed a great turn of speed, running fifth in the speed traps during free practice, but unfortunately Xavier and the team found themselves in 20th position after qualifying.

Again the American rider battled through in the race and finished in a solid 13th position, racking up more points in the main championship and also in the Cup.
