Book a slot at Poetry Library

If you’re a poet and you know it, you can show it at Morpeth Library.

Northumberland Libraries has teamed up with the North East Women Writers’ Collective to present an open mic night.

Collective members Catherine Ayres, Degna Stone and Jane Burn will present their pieces, but the floor is also open to anyone who would like to showcase their own poetry.

Morpeth Library is home to the Northern Poetry Library, the largest collection of modern and contemporary poetry in England outside London. It is free to join and borrow books.

The open mic night will take place at the Gas House Lane venue on Thursday, October 23, at 7pm. Admission is free and refreshments will be available.

To book a five-minute slot to recite your work, call the library in advance on 01670 620390.
