RESIDENTS can discover how to bring their family history alive on the page at a free creative writing taster session.

People who have researched their ancestors and would like to discover how to make the content more readable, or have a range of facts but don’t know how to start putting them together, can get expert guidance at Past Perfect in Woodhorn.

Course leader and award-winning writer Dr Barbara Henderson will introduce those taking part to the process of using creative writing in non-fiction. They will be offered invaluable insight into how to structure the work, what details to include or leave out and whether, where and how to share or even publish the results.

The session promises useful hints and tips, even if you would simply like to record your family history for your children, grandchildren and generations to come.

The taster session is taking place on Saturday, July 28, from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Places are limited so booking is essential. To book a place, call Woodhorn on 01670 528080.
