During the summer break, Morpeth Camera Club members have enjoyed a very interesting series of summer walks, organised and led by competition secretary Davy Bolam.

A river walk at Warkworth, Church Hill and beach at Alnmouth, Blyth harbour and marina, the ‘Legend of Steam Gala’ at Tanfield, the largest travelling fair in Europe on the Town Moor, Battle Bridge and Alnwick, the popular ‘fish and chip walk’ at Amble, the Aln Valley Railway in Alnwick, and trips to Bolam Lake, Newbiggin, Dunstan Staithes and Northumberlandia were among the interesting locations visited, which was a great opportunity for club members to keep in touch during the summer break.

The club will resume for the 2015/2016 season on Tuesday, September 8, at 7.30pm, at Morpeth Methodist Church.

The programme will include presentations by much respected photographers, interclub and internal print and digital image competitions, teaching sessions on digital techniques, practical nights and social evenings.

Members will also be busy organising the Annual Morpeth Camera Club Spectacular, which this year will take place on November 10, offering the public a rare opportunity to see the work of renowned international photographer Duncan McEwan, with a new two-part programme of projected Scottish and overseas landscape photographs.

More details will be published on our website nearer the time.
