Families are urged to drop into Wallington next week to help with a mammoth planting task.
The National Trust, which runs the estate at Cambo, needs visitors’ help to plant 100,000 snowdrops for a new winter trail.
The planting will begin in front of the house on the East Lawn and continue into the East Woods, around the China Pond, and on to the Walled Garden, creating a stunning seasonal attraction.
Events and Marketing Manager Julie Thomson said: “It’s a mammoth task so we need all the help we can get, and we hope the results will be spectacular. This is a great way to get the kids outdoors this half-term and to learn a bit about gardening too.
“We’re saying to people, Wallington isn’t ours, it’s yours. Come and help us to create a beautiful winter garden.”
Planting will take place daily from Saturday, February 14 until Sunday, February 22, from 10am to 3pm.
