DISCOUNTED admission is being offered to Northumberland’s historic gems to celebrate their starring role in a recent TV series.
English Heritage has announced the special offer for various properties and visitor attractions following Robson Green’s Tales From Northumberland series.
The programme, which was recently broadcast on ITV, saw the native Northumbrian actor travel the length and breadth of the county to reveal its secrets, history and people.
Now English Heritage hopes that more people will make a trip to see the attractions for themselves.
And it is offering 25 per cent off admission to sites, including Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens, at weekends throughout the winter.
Area Manager Lynn Rylance said: “The past couple of months have been a fantastic showcase of the North East region and we are delighted to have seen a number of our properties highlighted throughout the series.
“We are really very proud of our heritage and are working hard to share this and England’s story.
“This reduced entry offer, which is valid on all of our Northumberland properties over weekends this winter, gives visitors a chance to explore what they have seen on television.”
To take up the offer, people must download a voucher from www.english-heritage.org.uk/northeast
Terms and conditions apply and it is not valid for event days.
In addition to Belsay Hall, the other attractions included are Hadrian’s Wall sites, Lindisfarne Priory, Warkworth Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle and Etal Castle.
